The Brilliant Distinctions Program is an incentive based reward program, set up by Allergan, to help you save on products such as Botox, Juvederm, SkinMedica, Kybella, Latisse, Voluma or Natrelle Gel Breast Implants.
How to Sign Up
Signing up is easy. All you have to do is be 18 years or older. It’s free and it only takes a few moments to register. It only requires your name, zip code, date of birth, e-mail address and gender (that last part can be confusing these days, just give it your best shot :)).
You only need one account, as a matter of fact, if you open more than one account you will be blacklisted, never to enjoy those BD points again.
Ways to Earn
Every time you purchase a product or procedure that is included in the Brilliant Distinctions Program or Shop at the Brilliant Distinctions Mall, you earn points that can be used as savings on your next purchase for Allergan products and procedures.
100 points = $10, 200 = $20, and so on:
There are a couple ways to earn points:
Purchase Allergan Products
When you purchase an Allergan approved product or procedure from an authorized physician who is participating in the program, you automatically earn points.
Some interesting factoids:
- Physicians offices aren’t required to offer the program, so always ask
- Physicians get 100% reimbursed on our savings so, besides the manpower to enter the points, it costs them absolutely nothing
- Only physicians that sell a certain amount of product can participate in the program
I’d recommend that you make sure that your doctor’s office participates in the program and has your member id. Don’t wait for them to mention it – I can’t tell you for how long I was getting my Botox at a participating physician’s office and knew nothing about it (and points aren’t retroactive!)
To find a provider, you can search by zip code and radius on the Brilliant Distinctions Program (BDP) website.
Shop at the Brilliant Distinctions Mall
Another way to earn points is to shop at the Brilliant Distinctions Online Mall where you can shop and earn points from 100’s of popular retailers such as JCrew, Victoria’s Secret, Gap and a whole lot more.
The point system varies depending on the store. Ex. At Staples you get 1 BD Point per $3.53 spent – at Vistaprint you get 1 BD Point per $2.20 spent, etc.
Points can only be earned through shops at the mall, they cannot be redeemed there. Any cash you save with the points can only be applied to Allergan products and procedures in the program (we’ll go over those below).
When you want to use your points simply print out your coupon before your next office visit and it’s as easy as that. For convenience they have the Brilliant Distinctions app for your mobile device, Check it out:
However, I have to mention that in my case, at this moment, my app didn’t show points that I earned yesterday, but the website does. So if you had your last purchase pretty recently, you may want to check the website.
The Point System (the good stuff)
Points expire after 9 months from the date issued, and they’re strict about that. Also, if you create a coupon by accident you can cancel it or use it within 60 days at which time it expires. Keep that in mind before you pull the trigger.
Personally, I just have the lady at the front desk do it.
Allergan has a lot of products under it’s umbrella, and not all of them are covered, so let’s briefly go over which ones are.
Botox (200 points per treatment)
Botox is used for both the prevention and the treatment of fine lines, for tightening of the neck and jowls, softening a square or round face (they do this a lot in Asia), to create an upper lip pout, bring down a gummy lip, and raise your eyebrows which can in turn raise a droopy lid.
Medically speaking, Botox can also be used for the treatment of migraine headaches as well as to calm down overactive sweat glands in the hands and under your arms. Your health insurance may cover those.
You get 200 points per Botox treatment, but since you are not recommended to get treatments more frequent than every three months, you will not get points on Botox unless it’s been at least 3 months since your last treatment (so, no cheating the system, yo!).
Juvederm XC (200 to 400 points)
You get 200 points for 1 syringe of Juvederm XC and 400 for two. You don’t get any points for partial syringes.
Juvederm Voluma XC (200 to 800 points)
Juvederm Voluma XC is also a dermal filler, but it is the first and only that’s been FDA-approved for correcting age-related volume loss in the cheek area and is effective for up to two years.
You get 200 points per syringe, up to 4 syringes.
Latisse (100 to 150 points)
Latisse helps you grow your lashes longer, darker, thicker and stronger. You’ve seen those Brooke Shields commercials, right?
You earn 100 points for the 3 mL Kit and 150 points for the 5 mL Kit. If you live in a non-dispensing state you can go to the Brilliant Distinctions home page and create specialized coupons or certificates to purchase from your local pharmacy.
Natrelle Gel Breast Implants (500 points)
Natrelle are these cool, cohesive gel, breast implants made by Allergan. You can earn 500 points for the surgery as long as you pay cash and you can do this only 1 time.
SkinMedica (15 to 100 points)
You can earn 15 to 100 points per SkinMedica product as long as you purchase it from a participating provider OR if you link your BDP account to your SkinMedica account. For convenience you can purchase them on their website too!
Additionally, there are always specials going on such as double points or 200 points to sign up a friend. You can find them on the website when planning your next beautification day!
A penny saved is a penny earned, and just in time for the holidays!
