BBB Product Review: Olaplex for Hair Color

Olaplex hairBeautyBlackBook rating 5 heartsOMG I LOVE me some Olaplex!  After a minor (MAJOR to me!) cold fusion hair extension tragedy, I was trying to be super nice to my hair and kept if darker for a while but I wasn’t happy about it.

Thanks to Olaplex I am back in blonde happiness and my hair never looked better! Check it out:

What is Olaplex?

Olaplex is a $35 treatment that is added to your regular color and enables colorists to lighten your hair without the damage. As with most everything, there is a scientific reason behind it which I explain in detail in my article ‘Olaplex – Dye Your Hair Without the Damage‘ so check it out if it that interests you.

The fact is, it works!

How is Olaplex Used?

It really doesn’t add a lot of extra time to your regular color routine. It has three steps – first, Olaplex No.1 Bond Multiplier is added to your regular color. Then, after you rinse your color out, Olaplex Bond No. 2 Bond Perfector is applied to your hair to prevent breakage.

Olaplex Step No3 Hair Perfector

Olaplex Step No3 Hair Perfector

But, the part I love the most is Bond No.3. You take this home with you and once a week you wet your hair and put it in for 10 minutes. After that, you rinse it out then wash and condition your hair as normal. When my stylist dried my hair the first time after that, she was floored.

My hair felt like silk. It’s like night an day. Flaxen! Seriously!

The bottom line is, if you color your hair make sure your hairdresser knows about Olaplex. If you always wanted to go lighter but were afraid to fry your hair feel safe with Olaplex! beautyblackbook keeping you in the know
