RT002 by Revance, a Longer Lasting Botox Alternative!

Do you like the idea of a longer lasting Botox alternative? Well, RT002 by Revance® may be the answer!

Botox® (onabotulinumtoxinA), Dysport® (abobotulinumtoxinA), and Xeomin® (incobotulinumtoxinA) are the three neuromodulators used in the United States, but maybe not for long.

Revance has begun Phase 3 trials on a Botox alternative that will last almost twice as long. They are currently calling it RT002 (daxibotuliunumtoxinA). Phase 3 is the final phase of FDA testing that comes after proof of efficacy and before it goes to market. If all goes well we can see this stuff in our doctor’s office this year!

RT002 will specifically be used for glabellar lines, also known as frown lines, that show up between your eyebrows after a particularly stressful day.

Clinical studies by Revance (RVNC) have shown RT002 to be effective for 23 to 24 weeks. That’s almost double the time of other botox alternatives.

And it can take anywhere from 10 to 25 units to treat your frown lines. Each unit can run from $10  to $25 (NYC) depending where you live so basically you could spend $100 to $625 per treatment.

Hopefully the guys at Revance won’t charge too much more for their product because wouldn’t it be grand if you could spend half that on your next neurotoxin treatment? But, the time you could save by not having to trek to your injectors office makes it a happy botox alternative regardless.

I’ll keep you informed of any new developments!
