Ixnay on the Heat Tools!

Put your hair on sabbatical and stay far, far away from heating tools such as straightening irons and curling wands and, dare I say it… blow dryers!

Ok, no blow dryers may be pushing it, but knowing that these tools dry out your hair leaving it more vulnerable to damage you may want to ease up on the the blow dries the week before your applying color.#4 ways to use botox

Go In Dirty

Oily Hair Grabs Hair Color Better

My favorite one all around! You shouldn’t wash your hair for 2 or 3 days before you color for a few reasons.

One, the oil aids in protecting your hair and your scalp when you color.

Two, it’s always better for your colorist to see your hair at it’s darkest in order to get you the results that you want.

Three, it’s also worth mentioning that dirty hair is easier to piece out and separate insuring that there are no glaring spots of color missing when your done.

But the main reason is that the more natural oil that is in your hair the better the color will adhere.  (clean hair can make it too slippery)

The rest is up to your hair guru who, once you find, you hang on to for LIFE! kim ann mailchimpP.S. Check out my article ‘Olaplex – Dye Your Hair Without the Damage’ and make sure your guru uses that stuff!
